But it's worth a try. My grandfathers Ford Model A was stolen about 50 years ago. He's retiring in January, and might be looking for a project car (maybe.) It would be absolutely the coolest thing in the world if he got his car back. I know this is a ridiculously long shot, but hey, crazier things have happened. Here's what I know about it:
It began life as a 2-door sedan, but had the back chopped off and a pickup bed added.
It was painted red and yellow (distinctive!)
It had an authentic San Francisco cable car bell on it.
That's about it. It was stolen from Clear Lake, CA about 50 years ago. So if any of you see a beat up, red and yellow ford model a pickup online, please let me know! I know it's almost impossible, but it would make him the absolute happiest guy on earth. It's theft still brings tears to his eyes to this day, so if you could keep your eyes peeled I would be eternally grateful!
Some M1 tail for your time:

It's too bad that the Model A was stolen, because his A sounds like it was amazing. I wish you luck.

It'll be like finding a metal needle in a haystack. tricky, but easier if you have the tools.

I can see why someone would steal that. That thing is sexy!

Maybe..but probably not. Apparently, his was painted with red and yellow hardware store paint, so its "original" paint is probably all gone by now. But it could be..I'll ask him!

He's over here for thanksgiving, so I've already asked him- his was a hardtop truck. But thanks for looking..it really means a lot to me!!

I'll keep looking. I haven't even touched ebay and Craigslist yet.

I guess I forgot to mention- it's a 1928 model year. I just sent an email to the ford model a club of America, so we'll see what they say! But until then, I'm going to keep browsing ebay, craigslist, etc.
